Art In The City 2019: Call For Video Competition

  • CENDANA will be organizing the second edition of Art In The City, a city-wide campaign across Kuala Lumpur that serves as a strategic effort to promote the local arts community in expressing and showcasing their talents, while making art more accessible to the public.

    For Art In The City 2019, CENDANA celebrates the multitude of creativity of Malaysians by launching an Art In The City Video Competition to invite individuals with a creative perspective of what makes Kuala Lumpur unique in identity, arts and culture in a contemporary world to tell us compelling stories that celebrates and comments on the unique narratives of our beloved city.

    With the theme I heART KL, CENDANA invites submission of ideas for works to take inspiration from our city’s rich history and origins whilst exploring new creative ideas that reflect the positioning of Kuala Lumpur towards a cultural and creative city.

    The competition calls for videos that will tell compelling original stories between 90 seconds to 120 seconds and stand a chance to win prizes! All videos will go through a selection process and public voting. Winning videos determined by public votes and selection by the Selection Panel will win cash prizes and enjoy special screening sessions at the Lucky Pao Market – a creative marketplace event to take place between 18 – 27 October 2019 in conjunction with Art In The City Campaign.

  • CENDANA akan menganjurkan program Art In The City yang bertujuan mempromosikan bakat seni budaya tempatan, meningkatkan minat dan kesedaran khalayak ramai terhadap seni visual dan kreatif di Malaysia dan menggalakkan penglibatan awam dalam meneroka Kuala Lumpur sebagai bandaraya seni budaya dan kreatif.

    Dengan tema I heART KL, CENDANA meraikan pelbagai kreativiti rakyat Malaysia dengan melancarkan Pertandingan Video Art In The City untuk menjemput penyertaan video pendek unik dari individu ataupun kolektif/kumpulan. Selaras dengan tema, hasil karya video untuk mengambarkan Kuala Lumpur dari perspektif kreatif dan unik dalam identiti, kesenian dan kebudayaan serta memperolehi cerita-cerita menarik yang meraikan dan mengulas keunikan kota kita yang dikasihi.

    Pertandingan ini menjemput penyertaan video yang unik, menarik dan menggambarkan tema I heART KL yang terbaik dalam tempoh klip video antara sembilan puluh (90) saat hingga seratus dua puluh (120) saat dan berpeluang untuk memenangi hadiah tunai dan sesi video screening khas di pasar seni kreatif Lucky Pao Market yang berlangsung sempena program Art In The City pada 18 – 27 Oktober 2019.
